Dr. Patricia Gestoso bio

Dr. Patricia Gestoso (she/her) is an award-winning inclusion strategist. ​She helps leaders to leverage diversity and inclusion in their strategy so they can reach untapped markets, boost innovation, increase revenue and reputation, and attract and retain talent.

Patricia is known for bringing a unique perspective and anticipating technology and sustainability trends. She has 15+ years of experience advising companies, NGOs, and governmental organizations on the topics of technology, science, diversity and inclusion, data analytics, and customer experience.  She writes and keynotes on diversity and inclusion strategy, women in tech, ethical and inclusive design, and sustainable artificial intelligence. She has a proven track record of delivering value to organizations through coaching and mentoring managers, employees from minoritized groups, and high-potential women as well as facilitating workshops and masterminds.

Patricia is a cultural broker, with experience living in Europe, South America, and Canada and building collaborations with nationals from 50+ countries. This global awareness prompted her to spearhead several initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion in tech products and the workplace that were recognized with the UK 2020 Women in Software Changemakers award. She is the founder of the first gender employee resource group (ERG) at Dassault Systèmes, a 20,000+ employees engineering and scientific technology company, as well as their accessibility allyship online community. She has co-founded the Tech Inclusion Partnership – a joint initiative of DEI advocates working for digital UK leaders such as Accenture, Capgemini, IBM, Microsoft, Siemens – and she is an active contributor to several women in tech and women in business networks. She has conducted research on the effect of COVID-19 on the unpaid work of professional women and the factors accounting for the low representation of women in leadership positions in tech companies. Her work has been featured on ComputerWeekly.com and the Kaspersky Women in Tech 2021 Report.

She is the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity lead advisor atWe and AI, a British NGO with the mission of increasing public awareness of artificial intelligence, where she has guided the justice and healthcare working groups delivering on the Race and AI toolkit. She has created the Ethics and Inclusion Framework©, a tool to help designers to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for the actual and potential negative impact of the services and products they create. She has also developed the Fair Care Tracker, an application that facilitates caregivers to record the unpaid work they perform, assess the value they get in return, reflect on the skills they develop, and quantify the uncollected revenue. 

Through her career as global head of scientific support, training, and services, Patricia has worked with Fortune 500 companies, governments, and academic institutions to build, deliver, and maintain science-based virtual solutions worldwide. As head of customer operations, she has successfully co-led several acquisition integrations and is a member of Dassault Systèmes Technology and Support Councils. 

Patricia holds a Chem. Eng. B.Sc., a M.Sc. Chem. Eng., and Ph.D. in computational chemistry. She is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
